HP SPECTRE X360 14 OFFERS 2-IN-1 BUYERS ANOTHER TALL-SCREEN OPTION

Laptops with a 3:2 screen aspect ratio are gaining popularity. HP has introduced their first Spectre two-in-one laptop, the HP Spectre x360 14, with a taller display compared to the typical 16:9 widescreen displays. Acer has already released laptops and two-in-ones featuring 3:2 displays, and just recently, Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop Go, also with the same screen ratio that they’ve used in previous Surface models. While widescreens are great for entertainment purposes, the 3:2 ratio offers roughly the same dimensions as a standard A4 sheet of paper and provides about 20% more vertical viewing space compared to a 16:9 display.

The HP Spectre x360 14 boasts a 13.5-inch touchscreen with a 3,000×2,000-pixel resolution LCD, and HP will offer an OLED option as well. The display is compatible with MPP 2.0 pens, enabling you to write and draw on it. Additionally, it comes with a new Auto Color display control feature that automatically adjusts the color space based on the content displayed, such as using DCI-P3 for movies or Adobe RGB for photo editing or printing, according to HP.

HP SPECTRE X360

The design of the newest model in the HP Spectre series is remarkable, just like its 13-inch predecessor. The HP Spectre x360 14 is constructed with CNC-machined aluminum, similar to its sibling models. You have the choice of three colors: “nightfall black,” “Poseidon blue,” or “natural silver.” Before making your color selection, it would be useful to view some pictures as each color has a distinct vibe. The nightfall black variant exudes a refined and sleek aesthetic that seems perfectly suited for a professional setting. On the other hand, Poseidon blue has a more affable vibe, and personally, that’s the one I would choose.

The Spectre, named “x360” to indicate its versatility, is a convertible laptop. Although it weighs 2.95 pounds, which makes it slightly cumbersome for extended tablet use, its folding mechanism is effortless and the hinges are very sturdy. In contrast to many other convertibles, there is hardly any screen movement when you use the touchscreen. Additionally, the display supports stylus input, and the Spectre comes bundled with HP’s MPP2.0 pen, which conveniently attaches magnetically to the side of the laptop’s chassis.
